    2.1Background Introduction

     

    In the panel alignment and lamination industry, the requirements for FPC Bonding vision systems are particularly high when there are multiple Bonding areas on different platforms. Especially when there are multiple Bonding areas on the FPC, the entire system is equivalent to having multiple alignment systems, and these systems should not interfere with each other. For example, when aligning Sensor and FPC Bonding, there are two Bonding areas. Before aligning these two Bonding areas, the Sensor needs to be aligned with the overall position based on the FPC's location. This means the entire system includes three alignment processes. The system's logic is complex, precision requirements are high, and alignment time is critical. Ordinary alignment and lamination systems with low precision and stability are often unable to meet these requirements.

     

    2.2System Performance

     

    This system has a relatively small field of view, limited installation space, and presents significant challenges for system selection. It demands high precision and quick alignment. The system can accommodate up to 8 physical cameras. The Sensor and FPC Bonding vision alignment system consists of two workstations, each containing 3 sets of alignment processes, with 4 cameras in each workstation, totaling 8 physical cameras. In these two Bonding areas, the FPC needs to Bond to the front and back of the Sensor.

     

    The system uses 10-megapixel CCDs and custom prisms to address installation space constraints and insufficient working distance. Different lighting sources are used for the Sensor and FPC to illuminate effectively. Due to the limited field of view and the presence of 3 alignment sets on a single platform, a specific calibration method is needed to align the cameras with the platform. These measures have resulted in high-quality image output, enhancing the overall alignment precision of the system.
