Background

In the automotive parts manufacturing industry, the installation position and dimensional measurements of one-way valve springs are crucial. Simultaneously, the sealing ring for one-way valves is indispensable. During production and manual assembly, it is necessary to inspect various aspects such as the outer diameter of the spring, whether the spring is misaligned, whether it is inclined, whether there are dual springs in the one-way valve, whether the spring is deformed, and whether the sealing ring is present or missing. However, manual inspection is inefficient, has a high rate of missed detections, low reliability, and is costly.

The stable and efficient detection of the outer diameter dimensions of springs, their placement, and the presence or absence of sealing rings is achieved using the Cognex In-Sight Micro 1403 smart vision system. This system operates in harsh environments with the presence of oil contamination and humidity. Still, it can maintain stable and reliable performance due to the Cognex smart vision system's high protection level and strong resistance to interference, resulting in a low probability of failure.
