Cognex In-Sight vision system and laser displacement sensor for lid inspection

Cognex vision systems use multidimensional imaging to verify closure height and tilt. The In-Sight vision system with edge detection technology measures the distance between the top of the closure and the neck of the neck, as well as the horizontal position of the top of the closure, to confirm that it complies with programmable limits. In this way, the vision system can determine whether the closure is tightened on the safety seal. Bottles that do not meet the closure height and skew detection will be rejected.

3D laser displacement sensors enable accurate 3D inspections in the micron range to help optimize product quality. A laser displacement sensor placed above an open box uses three-dimensional measurements to ensure that each cap in it is in the correct position. Before the box is closed and placed on a truck for shipment, the incorrectly assembled closure is flagged. This avoids leaks and isolates defective products before they leave the facility.
