There are two types of vision sensors, 1. orthographic projection type and 2. perspective projection type. Some of the important features to consider when choosing a vision sensor are lighting, development environment, and modularity.
1. Integrated lighting
Few conditions, such as the factory environment and space constraints, complicate the need for proper lighting conditions. This situation can be problematic for vision sensors, as they rely on uniform, diffuse illumination to hold parts in place and perform reliable inspections using contrast, brightness, and pixel counting tools.
2. Standardize the setup environment
Every novice user should be able to easily set up, configure, and install vision sensors. In addition to current inspection needs, future applications that may require more powerful and flexible vision systems need to be considered when selecting a vision sensor.
3. Flexible modular design
In order to obtain image resolution, it can be difficult to mount the vision sensor in an accurate location. Inspection and run times can be achieved quickly with a smaller vision sensor that can be adjusted in any space and can be configured for in-line and right-angle installation.
