The 3D-A1000 is a smart camera with motion capabilities that can identify the presence or absence of parcels on various sorters moving at high speeds on an assembly line with unmatched accuracy. The launch will expand the 3D-A1000 platform to new applications that help retail and logistics customers reduce delivery errors and improve throughput and order fulfillment efficiency.

Unlike traditional methods, the 3D-A1000 uses Cognex's patented 3D Symbolic Light technology, which freezes motion through a single image. The system collects accurate 3D and 2D information without the need for an encoder, ensuring that low-contrast objects can be detected while avoiding pallet hygiene issues. In addition, embedded processing technology will use Cognex vision tools to perform detailed inspections of pallets and packages.

The 3D-A1000 system is factory focused and calibrated for immediate system integration. Unlike traditional systems, which can require skilled engineers to spend three to six hours to install and calibrate, the 3D-A1000 takes less than 15 minutes to install.
