The image recognition sensor uses the image captured by the camera to distinguish the presence or discrepancy of the target. Unlike image inspection "systems", the camera/lighting/controller is self-contained and simple to construct and operate. The difference from other general-purpose sensors is that a single sensor can be used for a variety of functions, and it is possible to detect multiple points in a centralized manner, and the principle of extensive image capture is adopted, making it possible to detect even if the target motion is not fixed.

After the image captured by the sensor head (camera) passes through the lens, it is converted into an electrical signal through the light receiving element (mainly CMOS). Then, the brightness and shape of the target object are identified based on the brightness and shade information assigned to the number of pixels of the light receiving element.

Black and white type

The light receiving element is a color type. Unlike the black-and-white type, which uses black and white poles for grayscale recognition, the received light information is analyzed into three primary colors (RGB) and each gray level is recognized, so even colors with few shades can be distinguished.
