Good news: Cognex launches new DSMax 3D laser displacement sensor

DSMax is the fastest, highest resolution laser beam 3D displacement sensor on the market for capturing images and inspecting products in three dimensions. This sensor provides the following features:

High scan rates (up to 18 kHz) over the full measurement range
Image resolution Maximum (2000 contour points)
Single-shot High Dynamic Range (HDR) image
Accurate 3D detection of smaller details
DSMax converts 2000 contours Points are centered into a 32-mm field of view (FOV). The greater the number of contour points spread across the field of view, the more detailed the details of that part can be revealed and the accuracy of the three-dimensional image can be improved, making the three-dimensional detection more accurate.
Fast Loops Increase Throughput
DSMax acquires high-resolution 3D images up to 5 times faster than other displacement sensors on the market. DSMax uses high-speed imagers, high-speed compressed sensing technology and CoaXPress® solutions to achieve scan rates up to 18 kHz (full field of view) at large resolutions, shortening cycle times while increasing throughput.
Optimized telecentric optics configuration The imaging system
DSMax is equipped with a telecentric lens that reduces shadows and produces high-contrast images. It does this by directing the laser beam directly to the object, reducing the light reflected from the lens and increasing the light reflected back to the imager. Telecentric optics configurations are suitable for high-precision measurements where accuracy, repeatability and throughput are required for the application.
Fast high dynamic range (HDR) improves image capture
DSMax captures images with single-shot HDR, reducing noise in images and improving accuracy. HDR will prevent DSMax from being affected by bright or highly reflective features in a certain part, providing the best image for machine vision inspection.
