Brief description of machine vision positioning system

Due to the wide variety of industrial products, automatic positioning may be involved in the production process of industrial products. For example, in an automated production line, it is required to install all parts quickly and accurately. However, some processing plants still use the traditional manual positioning method. This method has the following shortcomings:

(1) When positioning a single product for a long time, the eyes of inspection workers are easily fatigued and easily affected by emotions, so the positioning results are difficult to guarantee;

(2) Each worker’s judgment standard for the accuracy of positioning of the same type fluctuates slightly, and the positioning standards are inconsistent, so it is difficult to ensure high-quality products;

(3) Manual positioning is relatively slow. It takes a long time to accurately position a product. Manual positioning cannot meet the online positioning needs of high-speed production lines.

With the development of science and technology, the market and users have higher and higher requirements for the precision and quality of products. Traditional positioning methods can no longer meet the needs of users. Therefore, the industry has successively introduced machine vision technology.

Machine vision uses machines instead of human eyes to make measurements and judgments. Through machine vision products (i.e., image capture devices, divided into CMOS and CCD), the captured targets are converted into image signals and sent to a dedicated image processing system. According to the pixel Distribution, brightness, color and other information are converted into digital signals; the image system performs various operations on these signals to extract the characteristics of the target, and then controls the on-site equipment actions based on the discrimination results.

Machine vision technology has a positioning function that can automatically determine the position of an object and output the position information through a certain communication protocol. This function is mostly used for fully automatic assembly and production, such as automatic assembly, automatic welding, automatic packaging, automatic filling, automatic spraying, and is often used in conjunction with automatic actuators (robots, welding guns, nozzles, etc.).

Visual positioning technology based on machine vision has received widespread attention from processing manufacturers. The fully automatic visual positioning method not only overcomes the shortcomings of traditional manual positioning methods, but also takes advantage of its own fast and accurate advantages:

(1) High positioning accuracy, reliable and stable positioning results;

(2) The positioning speed is fast and can work for a long time, and can operate 24 hours a day.

In the visual positioning inspection system, being able to accurately identify the direction and location of the product is the core of the system. Positioning detection can be divided into two steps, one is to make a standard template, and the other is to search. The visual positioning system uses advanced image visual detection technology to achieve real-time and comprehensive visual positioning analysis of high-speed moving industrial products. When the system is equipped with a high-performance color digital camera, the camera collects images of industrial products and transmits the image data to the image processing system. The image processing system performs a matching search on each image, accurately locates the position and direction of the product, and controls the machinery. Arms and other automated equipment.
