   Since there are various types of industrial cameras and applications in different industries, users should choose the product that suits them. With its strong technical advantages and excellent performance, industrial cameras can be seen in various fields, helping the industry develop steadily. When companies choose suitable industrial cameras, they need to consider the following aspects:

First, clarify the needs first, determine the accuracy requirements of the detection product, determine the field of view that the camera will see, determine the speed of the detection object, and determine whether it is dynamic detection or static detection.

Second, determine the hardware type. The relevant parameters of the hardware will affect its performance. Therefore, before determining the hardware type, you must first determine its relevant parameters, including the following points:

1. Determination of the pixel size of the phase

The software accuracy currently on the market is generally error-free, which is commonly referred to as sub-pixel. However, although the software has no errors, hardware errors are inevitable. Therefore, the machine vision systems on the market are generally guaranteed to have an error of One pixel, so the following calculation formula must be used:

Accuracy = field of view (length or width) ÷ camera pixels (length or width)

For example: assuming the field of view is 10mm and the accuracy requirement is 0.02mm, then the pixels of the camera = 10÷0.02=500 pixels, then only a camera with 300,000 (640*480) pixels is needed.

2. Determine the camera transmission method. The advantages and disadvantages of the current camera transmission methods and their applications on the market are as follows:

1) Analog camera (PCI capture card) can be selected if the speed requirement is not high. Its advantages: stable and cost-effective; disadvantages: low frame rate, generally only 25 to 30 frames;

2) USB interface camera, if the system only uses a single camera, you can select it first, and if high speed is required, you can select it first. Advantages: No need to occupy a PCI slot, high frame rate, and high cost performance; Disadvantages: It occupies the system CPU;

3) 1394 interface camera, you can select it first when the system uses multiple cameras, and you can select it first when high speed is required. Advantages: Does not occupy system CPU, high frame rate; Disadvantages: Occupies PCI slot, expensive.

3. Selection of camera triggering method

1) Continuous acquisition mode: Optional for static detection, optional for continuous movement of the product that does not provide a trigger signal;

2) Software trigger mode: It is optional for dynamic detection, and the continuous movement of the product can provide trigger signals;

3) Hardware trigger mode: It is optional for high-speed dynamic detection, and the continuous high-speed movement of the product can provide optional trigger signals.
