  The machine vision system is also called the industrial vision system. Its principle is to image the product or area, and then process it with special image processing software based on the image information. Based on the processing results, the software can automatically determine the position, size, and appearance information of the product. , and judge whether it is qualified or not based on pre-set standards, and output its judgment information to the execution agency. 

The machine vision inspection system uses a CCD camera to convert the detected target into an image signal, and transmits it to a dedicated image processing system. Based on pixel distribution, brightness, color and other information, it is converted into a digital signal. The image processing system performs various operations on these signals. To extract the characteristics of the target, such as area, quantity, position, length, and then output the results according to the preset tolerance and other conditions, including size, angle, number, qualified/unqualified, presence/absence, etc., to achieve automatic identification function . 

Functionally speaking, machine vision systems mainly have three major types of functions:

The first is the positioning function, which can automatically determine where the objects and products of interest are, and output the location information through a certain communication protocol. This function is mostly used for fully automatic assembly and production, such as automatic assembly, automatic welding, automatic packaging, Automatic filling, automatic spraying, mostly in conjunction with automatic actuators (manipulators, welding guns, nozzles, etc.);

The second is the measurement function, which means it can automatically measure the appearance dimensions of the product, such as outline, aperture, height, area, etc.;

The third is the defect detection function, which is the most commonly used function in vision systems. It can detect relevant information on the surface of the product, such as: whether the packaging is correct, whether the packaging is correct, whether there are errors in printing, and whether there are scratches or particles on the surface. , damage, whether there is oil, dust, whether there are perforations in plastic parts, whether there are bad injection molding due to rain and fog, etc.
